Room 6
We are learning that we are special unique
individuals. We are celebrating what makes us special by exploring who we are
and where we come from.
On the
25 March Knighton School will be holding a special day of Cultural Celebration.
On
this day I would like Room 6 to share special treasure boxes with other
classes, parents and families who visit.
Over
the next two weeks could you make a treasure box using the stationery box I have sent home. Decorate the outside. You could make it look like a
treasure box or you could decorate it in some way to show something about you
and your heritage.
Put your name on the box and
the year 2011
Photos are powerful. They could be
glued on or in the box… photos of you… as a baby, doing an after school
activity ( sport/ instrument/dancing/scouts/art classes), your family, an old
photo from the past, your bedroom, on holiday.
Inside
the box place a few items that are meaningful to you or your family. Choose things
that will help the class learn something about you and where you come from. If
an item is too precious, then we would prefer it to stay at home. Take a photo
and/or bring it in just for a day.
Some
ideas…
A much
loved toy, something from your country, something special and unique to your
family, an award/medal, baby clothing.
Be prepared to share your treasure box with the
class.
