2012 Out of Zone Ballot
The Board of Knighton Normal School invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Knighton Normal School. Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which available on this website, see page, "Enrolment Scheme Policy". Students who live in the home zone are automatically entitled to enrol at school. Application forms for out of zone places are available at the school office (07) 856 5399, or download from Out of Zone application form.pdf
The exact number of places will depend on the number of enrolments received from students who live within the school’s home zone. The school operates a Maori language immersion programme but there is a waiting list for places in these classes. A separate application form needs to be completed.
Applications from out of zone students will be balloted in priority order outlined in the Education Amendment Act 2000. If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot (except in the case of the Immersion programme, where criteria in the enrolment scheme apply).
All applications must be received before this date.
