Knighton Normal School

2019 Out of Zone Ballots

The Board of Knighton Normal School invites applications from parents who wish to enrol their children at Knighton Normal School in 2018.  Enrolment at the school is governed by an enrolment scheme, details of which available on this website, see page, "Enrolment Scheme Policy".  Students who live in the home zone are automatically entitled to enrol at school.  Application forms for out of zone places are available at the school office (07) 856 5399, or download a form here.

The exact number of places will depend on the number of enrolments received from students who live within the school’s home zone.

If the number of out of zone applications exceeds the number of places available, students will be selected by ballot in priority order outlined in the Education Amendment Act 2000. This ballot, if required, will be held on 23rd January. Parents will be informed of the outcome of their application shortly after this date.

A Maori Language Partial Immersion Unit (Te Hihiri) operates within the school, however there is a waiting list for places in these classes.  Only children attending Knighton Normal School are eligible to be placed on the Te Hihiri waiting list.  A separate application form is required and available from the school office or download a copy here Te Hihiri Application Form.pdf

Out of Zone Applications for 2019

Our school roll is very high at present. We are unlikely to have many places available at the next ballot.  If there are places available, the next ballot will be held on the 9th April 2019.

All applications must be received by the ballot date.
