Information and Communication Technology

Between 2004 and 2006 Knighton Normal School participated in the Ministry of Education funded Information and Communication Technology (ICT) PD contract. This three year contract provided intensive professional development for staff to upskill them in the use of ICTs in their classroom programme.

A well-equipped computer lab adjoins the library with 25 desktop computers, a laser printer, scanner and data projector. All students in the school come to the lab once a week for a full class session with their classroom teacher.

All classrooms in the school have computers with access to the Internet and up to date software for educational use.  In addition to this there are 25 classrooms in the school that have data projectors and sound systems. Fifteen of these classes also have interactive whiteboards.

The school has a planned upgrade and replacement policy for ICT and will continue to provide up to date hardware and software to enrich the teaching and learning opportunities in the school.
